Our Purpose To Buying This Colt
Our intent was to secure a topline colt which had a high likelihood of becoming a 2YO Stakes horse.
Obviously this does not come about easily without the presence of a little inside knowledge, expertise and a bit of luck.
He was not a random selection or purchase.
This colt was a target we had been following for over 12 months.
He is the first foal from a talented Stakes mare called 'Its A Myth' - trained by Phil Stokes.
Phil knows this family intimately.
He has trained the last two generations of this family with all of them being Stakes horses.
Phillip and our team had frequented the property and observed this yearling development... as Phil has done for the rest of this family.
This colt is an improvement on the mare.
We paid up to allow him to enter all Magic Millions series races.
He’s strong and powerful and just looks the type that will be ideally suited to these races

IT'S A MYTH
It's A Myth is the Dam of this colt, trained by Phil Stokes.
She was a very talented filly which could reel incredible sectionals - often breaking 22 seconds for her final 400m.
Her biggest limitation was her size.
When she competed at Stakes level, she often got buffeted around due to her size.
It was her tremendous finishing speed from the back which allowed her to be competitive from some very tough positions.
If she carried a little more size and could hold a position, she would have taken her record to another level.
Our colt is an improvement on the mare, being a much larger/ stronger type which was a huge plus!

WHAT ELSE MAKES US CONFIDENT THAT THIS COLT CAN MEASURE UP AS AN EARLY 2YO?
It is only April and this colt has been through his breaking and education process.
He has sailed through the standard lunging, driving and riding process in great manner.
As such we have added swimming, barrier and track gallops on course proper.
Anyone that has been in the industry long enough , will understand the significance of having a young colt being able to go so far in a few weeks.
In my personal experience of over 20 years, i can count on my hand how many horses have had the temperament and mental maturity to handle such challenges so early on.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
2YO racing is the most lucrative form of Racing in Australia.
It also hosts the smallest subset of racehorses.
Approximately only 15% of all colts and fillies born will make it to racing as an early 2YO.
Mental Maturity and ability to race to rider's instructions plays a huge factor in race result!
As you will see in the video's below, this colt has a tremendous flowing action with the concentration like an old hack.
Notice the confidence this young horse displays and the swagger he shows in environments totally foreign to him a few months ago.
This is only April, and you can imagine how important this will equate to when he is under the spotlight of crowds and action during a carnival atmosphere.

Joins an experienced horse alongside him getting used to feeling of touch, ropes etc

Our colt accepts rider. The key at this early stage is balance, calmness, and positive reaction to the bit and direction requests from the rider.

IS THIS COLT THE RIGHT FIT FOR YOU?
This is a regally bred horse from a highly successful and active family, trained by the same trainer whom has owned and raced the last two generations of this family line.
He is from a family that has hosted only two foals to race in the last three generations - which did not compete at Stakes level.
The colt is an improvement on his mother, whom was a very talented Stakes horse which had a blistering turn of foot - sub 11 sec sectionals.
Since acquiring the colt, we now have a very good insight to his mental capacity to learn, temperament and ability which is first class!
You truly could not give yourself a better chance than with the intel we have on this colt.
This is a colt well suited to connections that have had experience owning racehorses and looking to up the quality of their stock - in the aim of racing a Black Type galloper.
This is not a colt recommended for a new hobbyist that is not in a position to make a sizable investment towards his/her racing hobby.
